Legislature passes CON extension

Last week, the Ohio House included a temporary amendment in HB371 which would temporarily require the Director of Health to grant a certificate of need (CON) holder a 24-month extension for capital expenditures and to begin construction. It also allows the CON to be transferred without being voided. The temporary language recognizes that due to ongoing supply chain issues and workforce shortage in construction trades, some projects may be significantly delayed.
